James is the Vice President of the Bruny Island Environment Network, President of the Bruny Island Men's shed, and current projects include raising public awareness of the need to avoid road-kill by driving more slowly, of protecting the coastal habitat of shorebirds, and is involved in a critical program to build nesting boxes for species such as the endangered 40-spotted pardalote.
