Birds of Bruny Island

This beautiful short film by talented film-maker and wildlife photographer Marcio Conrado shows some of the incredible diversity of avian species that can be found on Bruny Island, Tasmania.

Bruny Island is home to over 150 bird species, including all 12 of Tasmania's endemic birds, and is recognised internationally as an important bird area. Among the island's most celebrated and endangered residents are species such as the Forty-spotted Pardalote, the Swift Parrot and the Tasmanian Wedge-tailed Eagle.

Marcio is an experienced video producer from Brazil with a deep passion for wildlife and birds. Using rope climbing techniques, he scales large trees to get up close to his subjects and capture stunning footage.

This short film was premiered at the Bruny Island Bird Festival 2026.
